Visa Bulletin

The Visa Bulletin is published monthly by the US State Department and shows which immigrant visa numbers are available. It contains two charts: 'Final Action Dates' (when a visa can be issued) and 'Dates for Filing' (when applicants can submit I-485 or DS-260). The bulletin is organized by preference category (EB-1 through EB-5, FB-1 through FB-4) and country of chargeability. Countries with high demand (India, China, Philippines, Mexico) often have significant backlogs — EB-2 India, for example, currently has a 10+ year wait.
