Eligibility Requirements

National of a treaty country (Japan qualifies)

Substantial investment in a real, operating U.S. business

Investment must be at risk and irrevocable

Investor must direct and develop the business

Business must not be marginal (must generate income beyond supporting the investor)

Application Process

Gather supporting documents (business registration, financials, lease, etc.)

Complete Form DS-160 and apply at a U.S. Embassy

Attend visa interview

Duration of Stay

Up to 5 years, renewable indefinitely
