What is the TN Visa?

The TN visa (Trade NAFTA) is available to citizens of Canada and Mexico under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA, formerly NAFTA). It allows qualified professionals in specific occupations to work in the United States. Canadian citizens can apply directly at the port of entry, while Mexican citizens must obtain a visa at a U.S. Embassy.

Eligibility Requirements

Citizen of Canada or Mexico
Profession must be on the USMCA list of qualifying professions
Possess the required qualifications (degree, license, etc.)
Have a pre-arranged full-time or part-time job with a U.S. employer
