E-2 Employee

An E-2 employee visa allows essential workers of the same nationality as the principal E-2 investor to work in the US. The employee must fill an executive, supervisory, or specialized role that requires skills not readily available in the US labor market. Unlike the investor, E-2 employees do not need to invest capital. Their visa is tied to the employer — if they leave the company, they must find another E-2 employer or change status. Typical positions include restaurant managers, IT specialists, and operations directors.
