The DS-160 is the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application required for all visa applicants at US embassies and consulates worldwide. It collects biographical information, travel history, employment details, and security questions. The form takes 60-90 minutes to complete and must be submitted electronically before scheduling a visa interview. A confirmation page with a barcode is generated upon submission. For E-2 applicants, the DS-160 is submitted alongside the complete E-2 petition package including the business plan and investment evidence.
