Biometrics Appointment
A biometrics appointment is a USCIS-scheduled session at an Application Support Center (ASC) to collect fingerprints, photograph, and digital signature for FBI background checks. Required for most immigration applications including I-485, I-765, I-131, and N-400. The appointment is typically scheduled 2-6 weeks after filing. It takes approximately 15-30 minutes. Applicants must bring the appointment notice, valid photo ID, and the receipt for their pending application. The biometrics fee ($85) is usually included in the application filing fee.
