Business Visa Interview

Business · Reinvent NY glossary

The visa interview at a US embassy or consulate is a critical step in the E-2 (and most other visa) application process. The interview typically lasts 5-15 minutes, during which the consular officer evaluates the applicant's eligibility, business plan viability, investment evidence, and intent to return. Key documents to bring: DS-160 confirmation, passport, business plan, proof of investment, corporate documents, and financial records. Preparation is essential — applicants should be able to concisely explain their business model, investment amount, job creation plans, and qualifications. Denial rates vary by embassy.
