What is the B-1 Visa?

The B-1 visa is a nonimmigrant visa for individuals entering the United States temporarily for business purposes. It does not authorize employment but allows activities such as attending business meetings, conferences, negotiating contracts, and consulting with business associates.

Eligibility Requirements

Purpose of visit must be business-related

Intent to return to home country after visit

Sufficient funds to cover expenses during stay

Ties to home country (employment, property, family)

Application Process

Complete Form DS-160 online

Pay the visa application fee ($185)

Schedule an interview at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate

Attend the visa interview with required documents

Receive visa approval and passport with visa stamp

Duration of Stay

Up to 6 months per entry, extendable
