学区（スクールディストリクト）
学区とは、公立学校システムが運営される地理的区域です。米国の公立学校への入学は基本的に家庭の住所によって決まり、住むエリアが通える学校を直接決定します。
NYC は全米最大の単一学区（NYC 教育局）を運営しており、100 万人以上の生徒が在籍しています。市内は小学校・中学校向けに 32 のコミュニティ学区に分けられ、高校入試は市全体の別プロセスで行われます。
移住家族にとって学区の質は住居選びの最重要要素の一つです。NYC 郊外のウエストチェスター郡やナッソー郡、ニュージャージー州の一部には評価の高い学区があります。GreatSchools.org などのサイトで評価や口コミを比較できます。
