Eine RFE bedeutet nicht automatisch eine Ablehnung des Antrags, sondern gibt dem Antragsteller die Möglichkeit, seinen Fall zu stärken. Die Antwortfrist beträgt in der Regel 87 Tage. Eine unvollständige oder verspätete Antwort kann zur Ablehnung führen; daher ist es ratsam, mit einem Einwanderungsanwalt zusammenzuarbeiten.
